1.1. This photography competition is conducted by Winter Photography Festival (Australian Business Number 96 868 789 338) ("WPF").
1.1.1. The term 'Competition' represents persons submitting digital images within the terms and conditions outlined where winners are designated per category according to the judging process and event criteria. The competition is skill based and not chance based.
1.2. Entry into this competition deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
1.3. These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this competition.
1.4. WPF reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions planned. WPF may also cancel or suspend this competition if an event beyond the control of WPF corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition. WPF will disqualify any individual who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this competition.
1.5. This is a non-acquisitive photography competition governed by these Terms and Conditions.
1.6. WPF makes no representations that the content in this site is appropriate or available for use in all countries. Those who do access this website are solely responsible for compliance with local laws of the country in which the content is accessed.
Who Can Enter
2. Who can enter the RENNEN Photography Prize?
2.1. RENNEN Photography Prize (‘RPP’) is an international competition and is open to anyone.
2.2. Open to individual professional photographers, individual amateur and enthusiast photographers.
2.3. There is no age limit on entering RPP For participants under 18 years of age a parent or guardian consent is required. The consenting guardian is then bound by these Terms and Conditions.
How to Enter
3. How to enter the RENNEN Photography Prize.
3.1. Entry to the competition is open from 20th October 2018 to 28th February 2018. No entries will be accepted after 28th February 2018 23:59 UTC; Universal Coordinated Time.
3.1.1. Each entry is to be submitted electronically via a completed entry form located on the RPP website.
3.2. Entrants must follow the instructions provided within these terms and conditions.
3.3. There is no limit to the number of entries an individual wishes to enter.
3.4. Each entry includes the ability to enter three images.
3.5. Each entry must comply with these Terms and Conditions, including the Submission Guidelines specified below.
3.6. Each entry must individually meet the Technical Specifications as follows:
3.6.1. Saved as JPEG or JPG.
3.6.2. 3000 pixels on the longest side.
3.6.3. Recommended conversion to Adobe RGB (1998) colour format.
3.6.4. Must not exceed 5mb.
3.7. A standard entry cost of $25.00 USD must be paid for each entry submitted. All entry costs are to be paid via Paypal online payments via the online entry form.
3.7.1 Any applicable currency conversions will be in accordance with Paypal's policies and the RPP accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage that may be incurred as a result of currency conversion.
3.8. On occasion, promotions may be run on the standard entry such as early bird specials.
3.8.1 No refunds or entry fee adjustments will be made if entering the competition outside the timeframe of a promotion.
Submission Guidelines and entry sharing
4. Competition Submission guidelines:
4.1. The individual entering the competition must have produced the original photograph.
4.2. All details provided by the entrant must be true and accurate.
4.3. The entrant is responsible for obtaining a signed Model Release where there is an identifiable person in an image submitted, to provide to the RPP if requested. (A release signed by or on behalf of any person identifiable in the image).
4.4. Each image must not contain any material or content that is infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, profane or otherwise objectionable.
4.5. The image must not plagiarise the work of any other person.
4.6. The image must not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law either of the Jurisdiction or any other country whose laws may apply to the entry.
4.7. You must not upload or send any content which might disturb or damage the RPP’s website or reputation.
4.8. Images that are found to have been derived from the designs or work of a third party, or otherwise breach these Terms and Conditions, will be considered invalid and, if awarded a prize, that prize must be returned to the RPP. The winners may be required to sign a statutory declaration regarding the originality of the entry. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the RPP reserves the right to take legal action against anyone found to have breached this term. The RPP reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the RPP has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The RPP’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation are reserved.
4.9 Each photograph entered into the competition must not contain any trade marks or copyright material owed whole or in part by a third party or violate any persons’ rights of privacy.
5. Every entry into the RENNEN Photography Prize 2019 has the chance to be shared on social media such as Instagram and Facebook.
5.1 A credit will be given to the photographer on every image shared.
5.2 RPP takes no responsibility on viral sharing post the initial publication on social media.
5.3 Entries will be shared during the entry period.
5.4 no refunds will be given to entries unless specified in these terms and conditions.
5. Judging images entered into the competition:
5.1. Up to 100 images will be shortlisted as quarterfinalists. Up to 50 images will be shortlisted as semi finalists post the quarter finalist announcement. Up to 25 images will be shortlisted as grand finalists post the semi finalist announcement.
5.1.1 This initial review will be conducted by the RPP committee members.
5.1.2 As described in these terms and conditions, entries that are shortlisted will not win a prize as a result of being shortlisted.
5.2. The Top 25 grand finalist will then be judged by the RPP committee as well as registered ambassadors.
5.2.1 Ambassadors are selected pending an application via the RPP website.
5.2.2. RPP reserves the right to decline an ambassador application for any reason.
5.3. Images are assessed on the following aspects–
5.3.1. Photograph Impact.
5.3.3. Technical Qualities.
5.4.1. The above scores are combined to achieve an Overall Score.
5.5. The judging process is a system with no element of chance.
5.5.1. There will be no correspondence between entrants and judges throughout this process.
5.6. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. Chance plays no part in determining any winner or finalists. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
5.7. Contact will be made by RPP with announced winners via email to arrange delivery of the prize via nominated paypal account.
5.8 Any of the shortlisted images are found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions, they will be immediately disqualified.
5.9. At no stage will an entrant be able to engage in correspondence with any member of the RPP committee regarding the outcome of the competition results.

6.12. 4th receives 3% of the prize pool. (e.g. if prize pool is $2000 USD, the prize will be $60).
6.13. 5th receives 2% of the prize pool. (e.g. if prize pool is $2000 USD, the prize will be $40).
6.14. Feature on the RPP Website, Instagram and Facebook social media channels.
6.15. Feature in the RENNEN magazine.
6.16. One winner will be announced from each Country.
6.17. *Country must have five or more entries and will be announced formally on the awards page to be eligible.

Young Photographer Award
6.26. Award for the best young photographer.
6.27. The age limit is strictly under 25.
6.28 The age box must be selected on the competition entry form.
6.29. In the event of a tie, the images in question will go back to the judges for a discussion and an anonymous re-vote.
6.30. Any winner subsequently found to have breached these Terms and Conditions must return any awarded prize within 30 days of a request to do so.
6.40 The request will be submitted via email to the email address originally entered into the competition.
6.41 The RPP will not enter into correspondence regarding such a request.
6.42 Young Photographer Award is not a separate category.
6.43 The prize for the Young Photographer award is detailed above in clause 6.1.5.
6.44 The age limit is strictly under 25 as of entry close date of February 28 2019.
6.45 The age box must be selected on the competition entry form.
6.46 Payment of prizes will be completed via PayPal. Entrants must have a valid PayPal account to receive any prize.
6.46.1. RPP will verify the winner(s) PayPal account via the email address provided in the entry form, before proceeding with payment.
6.46.2. If the winner does not have a PayPal account, it will be advised to complete the set up of such account.
6.47. RENNEN Photography Prize Magazine will be created in 2019.
6.47.1 RPP will make the magazine available either via the RPP website or contacting entrants directly.
6.47.1 RPP makes no claims into the quality of the magazine or the standard of the magazine’s content. The magazine’s purpose is to share the story of entries into the competition with other entrants.
7. Photographer / Entrant Rights:
7.1. All copyright remains with the photographer / entrant.
7.2. The RPP asserts no claims to the rights of any image entered into the competition except as expressed in these terms and conditions.
7.3. If The RPP uses any images throughout our website or social media channels, such as Facebook or Instagram. the photographer / entrant will be credited in the form of text clearly next to the image or as a watermark.
7.3.1 Entrants consent to the use of their images by RPP as per clause 7.3.
7.4. A perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use credited images through the RPP’s website and social media channels and to use entrants’ images and names either on-line or in print media to promote the awards at any time in the future are granted by the entrants to the RPP by entering the competition.
7.5. The use of image Meta-data is recommended by the RPP to assist in protecting their work from 3rd parties.
7.5.1 Clause 7.5 is a responsibility of the entrant.
7.6. Each entrant acknowledges that the RPP is under no obligation to use their entry on the RPP website or through any social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram.
7.7. If there is any point where the RPP needs to be postponed, entry fees will not be refunded.
7.7.1 When the RPP recommences the competition all previous entries will be automatically included.
7.8. If there is a point when the RPP must cancel the competition, all entry fees will be refunded.
7.9. If there is a point where the RENNEN Magazine publication needs to be cancelled. entrants will be informed by email.
Using the Website
8. Using www.rennenphotographyprize.com:
8.1. You must not use the RPP website content to distribute, reproduce, publish, alter, modify, create derivative or exploit such contents for commercial benefit.
8.2. You may not transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, collect any available personal information from the RPP Website on other individuals or upload personal information of other individuals, including their names, address, phone number or any other identifying information.
8.3. The RPP cannot guarantee that its servers are free of computer viruses, bugs or other harmful components or that defects will be corrected. As a result, you may at times experience disruption or other difficulties in using the RPP website.
8.3.1 The RPP has no liability for loss or costs of any kind you suffer as a result of or in connection with any disruption or other difficulties in using the RPP website. RPP is not responsible for any failure of equipment or technical error associated with the competition. Or for any incorrect information, commission, interruption or delay in operation
8.4. The RPP is not responsible for any theft, unauthorised access or distribution of any entries.

8.5.1. This site contains links to other sites. RPP is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.

10. Liability and Governing Law:
10.1. The competition is governed by the laws of Australian Capitol Territory, Australia. Each entrant irrevocably agrees that the courts of the Australian Capitol Territory shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and decide any suit, action or proceedings and/or to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with the competition and, for these purposes, each entrant irrevocably submits to the exclusive and binding jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capitol Territory.
10.2. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limit, exclude or modify or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the competitionand Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia.
10.3. In respect to this competition, except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, WPF (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the WPF control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; or (c) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant.
